Garcinia Cambogia / Hydroxycitric Acid

Hydroxycitric acid (HCA) is a chemical substance extracted from the Malabar tamarind (Garcinia cambogia), an Indian fruit used for culinary purposes in curries. HCA is found in relatively few plants, with Garcinia cambogia being one of the richest sources of this substance.

HCA inhibits the conversion of carbohydrates into fat, and acts as an appetite suppressor, and is used in dietary supplements to promote weight loss.

A randomised controlled clinical trial has demonstrated the efficacy of HCA in promoting weight loss and improving blood lipid profiles in obese individuals.

There have been no significant adverse effects reported in individuals taking Garcinia cambogia.

The recommended intake for HCA is 500mg three times daily.
